Hello, my name is Marcin Baran — a design consultant, design team manager, and product designer helping tech companies build better products, more coherent design systems, and stronger design cultures.
Many companies reach a point where their product grows faster than their design maturity. Features pile up, inconsistency creeps in, and teams lose sight of the user. That's where design advisory makes the difference.
I work with founders, product leads, and engineering teams to bridge the gap between business goals and design execution — helping companies build the right product the right way.
Whether you need a trusted thought partner, a design process overhaul, or a senior perspective on product decisions, I bring clarity, structure, and momentum to complex design challenges.
A design system is only as valuable as its adoption. I've led and contributed to design systems that teams actually want to use — because they were built with the people who use them, not just for them.
My approach connects design tokens to production code, aligns designers and engineers around a shared language, and builds governance models that make contribution easy and meaningful.
The most impactful work I've done — including Storefront UI, an open-source system with thousands of users — started not with a component library, but with a clear design philosophy and strong team alignment.

I'm in love with the design process.
Design, for me, has never been about pixels. It's about understanding what a business is trying to achieve, what a user actually needs, and finding the clarity in between.
Over 15 years I've worked across industries — from global fashion brands to open-source infrastructure — and the pattern I keep seeing is that the most impactful design work happens when there's real alignment between business goals, user insight, and engineering reality. That's the space I try to operate in.
Outside of work, I'm a father, husband and dog owner. I love Warhammer games, painting miniatures, riding my gravel bike, catching good live music and eating good food.
If you've made it this far down the page, I'd love to talk.
Whether you're scaling a product, building a design team, or untangling years of UX debt — I'd love to hear where you're stuck.
